After it was reported that Google's Android 7.0 (Nougat) had begun rolling out to users of Sony Xperia X and Xperia X Compact smartphones in select regions of the world, Sony has now officially made this rollout global, which means you can now check for the new firmware on your phones. At this juncture, it is worth noting that Sony has stuck to its original schedule of seeding Nougat to Xperia smartphones released even in 2016.
It is also worth noting that both the Sony Xperia X and Xperia X Compact are fairly recent phones, if not quite new. Now, users of both these smartphones have been even reported to have installed Android Nougat OS update; and these users have also posted screenshots post installation. Check the screenshots below:
Based on what users have shared, Android Nougat OS update would bear build number 34.2.A.0.266. Also, as officially communicated by Sony, the latest rollout is a phased one, which means that you need not fret over non-availability of Nougat even if your friend has received the OS update.
