In October, Soon after the release of Android Marshmallow to the Google Nexus series, HTC pledged to roll out the OS update to its devices within 90 days.
True to its word, HTC's US chief Mo Versi on Twitter has confirmed the company is done with software-testing and is ready to deploy Android v6.0 OS to One M8 in a few hours' time.
Other HTC devices slated to get the new update include HTC One M9, One M9+, E9+, E9, ME, E8, One M8 Eye, Butterfly 3, Desire 826, Desire 820 and Desire 816.

For the uninitiated, Google's new Android Marshmallow OS comes with an intuitive Doze power-saving feature. If the device is in sleep mode, it will automatically put apps to sleep to increase the device's standby battery life. It can extend battery life by at least 30% depending on the device's internal hardware.

Other noteworthy features include native support for fingerprint sensor input, a leaner and faster Chrome browser, more intuitive Now on Tap feature, new security-feature-verified boot system, support for more international dialects, new contextual assistance feature, Google photos and auto back-up from where all apps user data (less than 25MB) will automatically be stored in Google Drive.
