Samsung appears to be preparing for the release of its new handsets – Galaxy J3 (2017), Galaxy J5 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017) -- from its J-series, but for now it's time for Galaxy J7 (2016) to taste Android 7.0 Nougat.
The South Korean technology giant has already rolled out Android Nougat update to the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) besides the flagships -- Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge and Galaxy Note 5. The next in line to receive the operating system could be handsets from A, J and C series.

As expected, Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) was spotted running Android 7.0 Nougat on benchmarking site GFXBench by GalaxyClub (via SamMobile), hinting that the device could receive the OS anytime. The details of Galaxy J7 (2016) with Nougat has been deleted from the benchmarking site at the time of filing this story but the aforementioned websites still have the screenshots.
It may be mentioned that Galaxy J7 (2016) came running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system when it was launched last year. It sports a 5.5-inch display with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density), powered by an Exynos 1.6Ghz octa-core processor, and comes packed with a 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card) and a 3GB RAM. The device also features a 13MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, 28mm, autofocus and LED flash, a 5MP front snapper with f/1.9 aperture and a 3,300mAh battery.
Samsung hasn't announced the list of devices that are eligible to get the OS but it is obvious that most of its popular handsets will get it. Devices like Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy J5 (2016), Galaxy J7 (2016), Galaxy On7, Galaxy Tab S2 Refresh, Galaxy Tab S2, Galaxy Tab A 10.1, Galaxy C5, Galaxy C7, Galaxy C7 Pro, Galaxy C5 Pro, and Galaxy C9 Pro are expected to get the firmware. However, nobody knows when the OS rollout will happen.
