It appears like OnePlus is set to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat update to its two high-end smartphones – the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3. The Chinese smartphone maker has released second beta programme of the firmware for the OnePlus 3, giving a clear hint that its official launch is not far off.
OnePlus released OnePlus 3T with Android Marshmallow operating system instead of Android 7.0 Nougat, disappointing its fans. However, it announced that the new firmware would be seeded to the OnePlus 3 and 3T this year (by December) before releasing the first beta programme called OxygenOS Open Beta 8.

The company has now rolled out second beta programme called OxygenOS Open Beta 9 (N) for OnePlus 3. Those who have already flashed the previous beta build will receive the new beta via OTA (over-the-air) but others need to flash their devices by ADB sideload. Personal data should be backed up before flashing the beta as there are chances of losing the data after the procedure.
OnePlus said that OxygenOS Open Beta 9 (N) brings several changes like expanded screenshots, shelf design optimizations, general UI optimizations, DPI optimizations, battery performance optimizations, stability and performance optimizations, and general bug fixes.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is yet to announce the release date of Android 7.0 Nougat final build but it should happen soon, perhaps within next few days.
Android 7.0 Nougat comes with new inproved features like multi-window, direct reply notifications, VR interface, Seamless updates, Screen Zoom, Extra power efficiency, Google Assistant, Clear All, Data saver, bundled notifications, improved Java 8 language support, Instant Apps, App switch, and new emojis.
