After rolling out the new Android 7.0 Nougat to Verizon-exclusive Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Droid Force in the US, Motorola on Monday officially expanded the update deployment to its global variants.
"Last month, we told you Android 7.0 Nougat would be making its way to several of our smartphones before the end of the year, including Moto Z. Well, we have some good news...the wait is over! We'll begin rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat globally to Moto Z and Moto Z Force this week," Motorola said in a statement.
The new Nougat software brings night mode, bundled notification, enhanced security update, improved battery optimisation, multi-window options and numerous other value-added features to enhance user experience.

In addition to Nougat features, the new update makes Moto Z and Z Force compatible with Google's mobile VR platform Daydream. These are the first non-Pixel phones that have been certified for the Daydream platform and are built for VR with high-resolution displays, ultra-smooth graphics and high-fidelity sensors for precise head tracking.
If you have received a notification message for this update:
1. Select "Yes, I'm in".
2. After the software is downloaded, select "Install now".
3. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
4. Your phone is now updated.
If you have not received a notification message for this update, follow the steps below to manually update your phone:
1. Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.
2. Select "About phone".
3. Select "System updates".
4. Select "Yes, I'm in". After the software is downloaded, select "Install now".
5. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
6. Your phone is now updated.
Since OTA process are carried in phases, it will take a week or two to reach all corners of the world, so be a little patient for the update to arrive.
Users can also check for updates manually by going to Settings >> About Phone>> System Updates>> check for the new firmware.
With the release of Android Nougat to Moto Z and Z Force, Motorola will now focus on expediting the ongoing soak tests on Moto Z Play and Moto G4 series and roll-out the bug-free OS update to the public.
Motorola devices confirmed to get Android Nougat include Moto G (4th Gen), Moto G Plus (4th Gen), Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play and Moto Z Play Droid.
