HTC is yet to reveal Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA (over-the-air) update schedule for its devices but the latest report has claimed that the HTC One M8 could receive the firmware earlier than expected, perhaps in October itself.
It was earlier reported that HTC devices, including HTC One M9, HTC One M8, HTC One E8, HTC One M8 EYE, HTC Butterfly 3 and others may get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update by the end of this year. But GforGames has claimed in a report that the firmware may come to the HTC One M8 as early as October end or the beginning of November as it has been certified on by Bluetooth SIG.
The Taiwanese smartphone makers had earlier confirmed on its Twitter page that they will start rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update to its high-end devices before the end of the year, which means eligible devices should receive the firmware in December.
HTC has confirmed that its devices namely HTC One M9, HTC One M8, HTC One M9+, HTC One E9, HTC One E9+, HTC One ME, HTC One E8, HTC One M8 EYE, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC Desire 826, HTC Desire 820, and HTC Desire 816 will receive the new software but it didn't reveal its update schedule.
The company has also confirmed on its Facebook page while responding to a query that the HTC One M7 will not get the firmware as it has crossed two years of lifecycle.
