Motorola has started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to Moto G (2nd Gen) in the Unites States, weeks after it was released in India and Brazil.
Moto G (2nd Gen) devices in the US have received the firmware update that comes with features like Doze, Google Now on Tap, and redesigned app permissions, and the Android security patch for January, according to Android Police.
Motorola US is yet to confirm the release of the firmware to Moto G (2nd Gen) in the country, but the roll-out is expected as a couple of countries have already received it.

Moto G (2nd Gen) came running on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system at the time of its launch before it's upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The device will skip the Android 5.1 Lollipop update and get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware directly instead.
Motorola has released the new firmware to a few devices like Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto G (3rd Gen), Moto G Turbo Edition and Moto G (2nd Gen). Other devices illegible to get it include Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto X Pure Edition, Moto Maxx, Moto Turbo, DROID Turbo, Maxx 2, Moto E (2015), Moto G Turbo, Moto X Force and Moto E (2nd Gen) 4G.

How to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Moto G (2nd Gen):
- You are supposed to get a firmware update notification message on your handset
- Select "Yes, I'm in"
- Your phone will restart automatically after the installation
- Your phone is now updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow
How to manually update your phone with the firmware if you don't get firmware update notification message:
- Go to Settings Select "About phone"
- Select "System updates"
- Select "Yes, I'm in"
- Select "Install now" after downloading is done
- Your phone will restart automatically after the installation
- Your phone is now updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
You can also manually check availability of the new software by going to – 'Settings' >> 'About phone' >> 'System updates' >> 'Check For Update.'
