Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA (Over-The-Air) update has been finally rolled out to 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen) on Verizon, Sprint and USC.
The new firmware update for 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), which is known as Moto X Style outside USA, came a few weeks after Motorola's senior director of software product management David Schuster revealed that the company has a TestDrive for the Marshmallow upgrade on the device. The firmware update is not unexpected as it was on soak test on the device in the U.S. a week ago.
"We have started to fully rollout Android Marshmallow 6.0 on 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen) with the following carriers; Verizon, Sprint and USC," Schuster confirmed on Google+. He added that the company is continuing deployment of the firmware on AT&T variant of the device and Moto X Style in Latin American.
Schuster said that the company has started soak test for Moto X Play (2015) in Brazil and India, and the Moto X Force (2015) in Brazil, giving a clear hint that the firmware OTA update will be rolled out to these devices soon. He also went on to say that Motorola is working on rolling out the new firmware to all the eligible devices.
Motorola has confirmed that its devices, Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (2nd Gen), Moto X Style (3rd Gen), Moto X Play, Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto Maxx (2014), Moto Turbo (2014), Nexus 6 (2014), Moto G (3rd Gen), and Moto G (2 Gen) will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
