The mobile arm of Japanese firm Sony has reportedly released a new OS update to the Xperia T2 Ultra series via OTA (Over-The-Air) in select regions.
Sony community website Xperia Blog confirmed that the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS (build number: 19.4.A.0.182) has been made available to the dual-SIM variant of Xperia T3 Ultra (D5322).
How to install OTA update on Xperia T2 Ultra:
If Xperia T2 Ultra series device owners are getting the update notifications, then select "Yes, Download" option, and after downloading, select "Install now." The phone will restart automatically and the OS will be updated to the new version.
We would like to remind our readers that the roll-out process is being carried out in phases, so it will take some time to reach all the corners of the world.
Until then, users can check for the OTA update manually by going to – 'Settings' >> 'About phone' >> 'System update' >> 'Check Now'.
The company is expected roll-out the same update to the single-SIM T2 Ultra variant and also to the Xperia C3, Z1, Z1 Compact and Z Ultra in coming days. The software for all the above mentioned devices also passed certifications from PTCRB last week.
The new OS update is said to bring additional customisation options like silent modes including new alert system, camera improvements with superior auto-mode focus, enhanced enterprise support, Xperia in Business features for work and option to take selfie via SmartWear. That means users can use Sony's SmartWatch 3 as a remote shutter button.
