Android 5.0 Lollipop update will finally come to Sense version of HTC One (M7) and HTC One (M8) after weeks of waiting with the roll out expected to start in the first week of January.
The HTC One (M7) and HTC One (M8) Google Play editions have already received Android 5.0 Lollipop update along with Nexus series, Moto X, Moto G, Moto E and others but it hasn't come to Sense versions of the device.
The Taiwanese technology giant had earlier said in a statement that it would roll out the new software to the HTC One (M7) and HTC One (M8) within 90 days of its official release by Google but a report by TechTastic (via Phone Arena) has claimed that it will be made available to the devices on 3 January, 2015.
The report went on to claim that HTC has confirmed the release of the firmware at an event in London. The software update may not come to all the devices on the same day but expected to be rolled out in phases.
The Google Play editions of the HTC One (M7) and HTC One (M8) got the new software update last month. Interestingly, the GPe version of the devices in the USA has received the latest Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update.
"M8 GPE Owners! We just received TA from Google!! I am very grateful for all your patience. OTA to start at noon on 12/5 (working to pull in," HTC's VP of Product Management, Mo Versi tweeted in the first week of December. "M7 GPE approval received as well! OTA on its way! Thank you again!,"
