Samsung's high-end devices are finally set to receive Google's latest software, Android 5.0 Lollipop after weeks of waiting. It is reported that the firmware is finally coming to the Galaxy S5 in the UK.
Samsung devices are getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update quite late with devices from other mobile phone makers like Motorola, Google, HTC and several other having received it over a month ago. Some devices have even received the upgraded versions, Android 5.0.1 Lollipop and 5.0.2 Lollipop.
The firmware has been rolled out to Samsung Galaxy S5 in the UK after it was made available in Poland, Russia, Malaysia, and Spain, according to SamMobile. It is also expected to come to other Samsung devices like Galaxy S4, S3, Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge, and Note 3 soon.
Interestingly, some Samsung devices may get Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update directly instead of the Android 5.0 Lollipop.
According to Gospel Herald, the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge may get the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OTA update directly by the end of this month while Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy S4 are expected to get Android 5.0 Lollipop next month. It went on to say that "even U.S. carrier versions for AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular are expected to receive the update in addition to those purchased as carrier-less versions" though Samsung is yet to confirm.
