Samsung has reportedly released the much anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop to the company's 2014 flagship smartphone Galaxy S5 in select European regions.
This comes as a pleasant surprise to many Samsung fans, as soon after Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop launch last month, many OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) partners such as Motorola, Sony, HTC, LG and others wasted no time to declare the list of their devices slated to get the new update. However, Samsung, world's biggest smartphone maker never made an effort to announce any timeline for the rollout of new OS to its flagship devices.
Now, Samsung has silently released the Android 5.0 Lollipop (build number: LRX21T) to Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) in Poland, reported SamMobile.
It has to be noted that the rollout process is being carried out in phases and is expected to take some time to reach other regions of Europe soon.
Until then, Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone owners can check for OTA updates manually on their device by going to-

For the uninitiated, The Google's new Android 5.0 Lollipop OS comes with an overhauled design language Material, bringing in interactive user-interface, visually appealing graphic design (with bold colours & typography), tactile surface, fluid animation features, replacement of Dalvik with ART as its default runtime and many more tweaks for performance enhancements.

Apart from Google's new features, Samsung too incorporated custom value-added features such as clipboard tool, which keeps a history of your screenshots and the copied text. The company has also ported Galaxy Note 4′s fingerprint lock screen feature to the Galaxy S5 with updated fingerprint driver software, which is said to enhance the fingerprint recognition on the home button.
With release of Android 5.0 Lollipop to Galaxy S5, the company is expected to soon roll out the new Google mobile OS to the flagship Galaxy Note 4.
Couple of months ago, Samsung in its Twitter message has posted a Galaxy Note 4 with the wallpaper showing Lollipop candies with a caption – "Anyway you look at it, the #GALAXYNote4 Quad HD Super AMOLED display is pretty sweet. #NoteTheDifference".
Going by the cryptic message, the company might be hinting that the flagship phablet will be receiving the new Android v5.0 OS update pretty soon, probably by this month end or early January 2015.
