Andrew Garfield's fans are reportedly unhappy with the recent report that the actor has been given the boot from the "Spider-Man" franchise.
The news of Garfield's alleged exit from the popular franchise emerged post the Sony email hack. I was revealed that the makers were not happy with Garfield and were planning to hand over the franchise to Marvel, who wants to start the franchise with a clean slate.
The concerned fans of the actor have created petition on Change. org, against the ouster of Garfield. A portion of the petition reads: "He's a been a Spider Man fan his whole life and he's been handled incorrectly by the greedy idiots at Sony and he said himself that he would love to be in an Avengers movie and why not?"
More than 8,000 fans have lent their support to the petition. While Garfield has always garnered praise for his performance as Spiderman, if Marvel takes over the "Spider-Man" series, possibility of Garfield's return are meek, reported Comicbook.
However, there is no confirmation about the fate of "Spider-Man" franchise and looks like fans have to wait and watch till the final and official decision in regard to the film comes.
Meanwhile, Garfield is yet to react on the reports. Last month he was spotted on a romantic date with his girlfriend Emma Stone. The duo indulged in some PDA as they visited a theatre to watch "Interstellar."
The duo has been dating since 2010 and Garfield seems to adore the actress.
"It was like I woke up when she came in," the 31-year-old actor told Teen Vogue, according to Daily Mail."It was like diving into whitewater rapids and having no desire to hang onto the side. Throughout shooting, it was wild and exciting."
Garfield will next be seen in "99Homes." The film, which is also being produced by the actor, was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 71st Venice International Film Festival. It tells the story of a father who fights to get his family and their home back, after they are evicted from it by a real estate broker.
