The Manchester United exodus might have begun. Now that the 2016-17 football season has come to an end, several of the United star players are reportedly making an exit.
News has come that David de Gea is set for a move to Real Madrid after being shunned at the UEFA Europa League final by Jose Mourinho, and now, several reports say that Ander Herrera, who played a key role in Manchester United's midfield, on Wednesday evening, is set for a move to Barcelona.
Actually, Barca's new manager is keen on bringing the Spaniard back to the La Liga. Herrera, 27, played the most part of his career in the Spanish league, with Real Zaragoza and Athletic Bilbao, before moving to Man Utd in 2014.
So, who is this incoming Barcelona manager?
Althought the deal hasn't been official, widespread reports in Spain has claimed that the just-resigned Atletic Club Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde has already been picked as Luis Enrique's replacement. Enrique guides the Barca team for the final time on Saturday, May 27 in the Copa del Rey final against Alaves.
Let's not forget the fact that Herrera played one season under Valverde, back in 2013-14 and that turned out to be a breakout one for the Spanish midfielder; impressive enough to induce Manchester United to splash the cash for his services.
Herrera, signed for £28.4m by United from Bilbao, has a contract at Old Trafford until June 30 2018.
