Actress Amyra Dastur, who recently impressed the viewers with her performance in Mr X, has reportedly replaced actress Ileana D'Cruz in Jackie Chans "Kung Fu Yoga".
"Kung Fu Yoga" has been in the news for long as reports about the possible heroine to play the female lead in it had been doing the rounds. Initially, the makers of the film had reportedly approached Katrina Kaif for the role. But, the Bollywood actress disappointed fans saying that she was not part of the Hollywood project.
Later, popular South Indian actress Ileana D'Cruz, who made her debut in Bollywood with "Barfi", was officially roped in to play the female lead in "Kung Fu Yoga". However, the actress has reportedly walked out of this Hollywood project following some differences with the production house.
Now, it is being reported that Mr X star Amyra Dastur has been cast to play the role in "Kung Fu Yoga". A source close to the film reveals that there were many contenders for the role, but Amyra was the best fit for the role. And with further developments it's Amyra who sealed the deal, reports Bollywood Hungama.
Jackie Chan has already worked with Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat in 2005 martial arts-fantasy-adventure film "The Myth". Amyra Dastur would be the second B-Town actress to work with the Hong Kong actor.
"Kung Fu Yoga" is an action-adventure with elements of suspense. The film is a cross-cultural, multi-language movie, which is directed by Stanley Tong and produced by Taihe Entertainment and Shinework Media. Jackie Chan, Aarif Rahman and Sonu Sood are playing lead roles in the flick.
The movie went on floors in Beijing in September and was shot in Xi and Dubai till 30 October. The filming is expected to continue in Beijing and India in December.
