Tata Tiago AMT
After launching the Tiago hatchback in April 2016, Tata Motors launched AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) equipped Tiago in March this year. Originally launched only in top spec XZA variant, the Automated Manual Transmission unit equipped Tiago variant is offered with the 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine.
Buoyed by the response, Tata Motors launched a more affordable automatic variant for the Tiago range. The hatchback is now also offered in XTA AMT variant. Tata Motors calls the five-speed unit AMT transmission Easy-Shift AMT. The transmission comes with four gear positions – Automatic, Neutral, Reverse and Manual. The AMT is also offered in two drive modes– Sports and City. The Tiago AMT comes with an in-built 'creep' feature. The system allows the car to crawl forward when you lift brake pedal without acceleration. It also prevents the car from rolling back when it starts from an inclined position.

Tata Motors also introduced AMT in its compact sedan, Tigor, in India. The Tigor AMT, available in the top-specs -- XTA and XZA -- has been priced at Rs 5.75 lakh and Rs 6.22 lakh, respectively (prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Tigor AMT is otherwise just the same as the regular Tigor in its style and features, except the addition of the AMT box. Tigor also uses the same AMT box of Tiago sourced from Magneti Marelli. The Tigor AMT is available only in the petrol variant.
