Amitabh Bachchan showcased his villainous image in Director Vipul Amrutlal Shah's 2002 heist thriller Aankhen.
And after 16 years, the makers officially announced the sequel which will once again star Big B in the lead. Aankhen 2, which will be directed by Anees Bazmee, will go on floor in 2019 and will release in January 2020. And if reports are to be believed, Hollywood actor Jackie Chan is being considered for a role in the film.
"Since the story revolves around a casino this time owned by a Chinese, the makers are considering Jackie Chan for the part," a source was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.
In 2016, the makers of Aankhen 2 announced the star cast of the film at an extravagant event. The cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, and south actress Regina Cassandra in lead roles. But it looks like the makers are currently undergoing changes in their star cast.
Eros International, which is co-producing the sequel along with Tarun Agarwal, on August 23 tweeted that several prominent names will be added to the star cast.
According to the reports, Sushant Singh Rajput and Vicky Kaushal are being considered for a part in the sequel. It remains to be seen if the two talented actors get finalised for the upcoming thriller.
The prequel had garnered appreciation for its edgy plot and unique concept. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Sen in lead roles along with Aditya Pancholi who played the role of an investigation officer.
