Amitabh Bachchan, who is still an active figure in the entertainment industry at the age of 72 years, recalled the day when he almost lost his life.
Big B took to Twitter and remembered the day when he suffered a severe accident on the sets of "Coolie" about 33 years back. The veteran star, who calls 2 August as the day of his re-birth, expressed gratitude to all those who prayed for him on that day.
"T 1948 – To all that give me prayers and wish .. Aug 2nd my rebirth in sense .. I fold my hands in gratitude and .. (sic)," posted Amitabh Bachchan on Twitter.
It must be mentioned, the mega-star suffered a severe internal injury during the shooting of an action scene for "Coolie" (1983). It was a fight scene between Amitabh Bachchan and Puneet Issar, which turned wrong and Big B suffered internal bleeding. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and he was almost in a coma. The actor underwent a surgery on 2 August and it took several days for him to recover.
Later, Amitabh Bachchan completed the shooting of "Coolie" and it turned out to be a superhit. The versatile actor was last seen in the film, "Piku", starring Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan. Amitabh Bachchan, who played the character of an aged man having bowel issues, was seen as Deepika's father in the film. Like for most of his performances, Big B received a lot of appreciation for his role and performance in "Piku".
He will next be seen in the movie "Wazir" starring Farhan Akhtar and Aditi Rao Hydari among others. The film is slated to be released on 11 September.
