Fans were waiting to see the "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" father-son Jodi – Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan – to come together onscreen, but looks like they will have to wait for some more time.
Amitabh was roped in to share screen space with Hrithik in "Thug," directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya (Victor). Big B had a special role in "Thug," which stars Hrithik in the lead. But now the reports suggest that Amitabh has opted out of the project and the reason being the film getting delayed, Mumbai Mirror reported.
Apparently, the studio, which is said to be Yash Raj Films, producing "Thug" has pushed the film ahead before too. Also, Hrithik is currently busy with "Mohenjo Daro" and "Kaabil" and the script is said to be going under a few changes, the tabloid reported.
The tabloid further reported that Big B has a packed scheduled till 2017. He is currently filming "Pink" and will soon start working on "Aankhen 2." Big B has also signed R Balki and Sujoy Ghosh's next and both the film are expected to go on floors in 2017.
However, the studio spokesperson denied about any development and announcement regarding the film.
"Thug" lead actress
While the makers have finalized Hrithik as the male lead, there has been no announcement about the lead actress. However, reports suggest that Deepika might be roped in opposite Hrithik and she is in "advanced talks" with the makers.
"Deepika is the perfect choice for the film. Victor feels Dippy will do total justice to the role. It is an action film where Hrithik will yet again be playing a thief like he did in Dhoom 2. But this will be bigger and better," a source told DNA last year.
However, these are just mere speculation and the makers are yet to make a final announcement regarding the final cast of "Thug."
