Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan may be seen acting in a Kannada movie alongside Shivarajkumar. Narendra Babu, the director of the upcoming movie "Kabira" has reportedly approached Big B to play a supporting role in his film.
"Kabira," which stars Shivarajkumar in the lead role is said to be based on the life of Saint Kabir who was also a poet. Apart from Shivarajkumar's role, the director has not yet signed any other supporting actors. However, rumour has it that Bachchan will be seen playing the role of Kabira's teacher in the film, reported TOI.
Amitabh has previously worked with Shivarajkumar in an advertisement shoot in 2013. He had then tweeted saying that it was an honour working with the sons of legends. Apart from Shivarajkumar (son of Rajkumar), the advertisement also featured Tamil actor Prabhu (son of Sivaji Ganesan) and Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni (son of Nageswara Rao).
During this ad film shoot, Kannada star Shivarajkumar even got the opportunity to celebrate his birthday with Bachchan. Now, if Big B signs the film with Babu, then Shivarajkumar will get another big opportunity to work with the Bollywood legend.
The shooting schedule for "Kabira" has not been announced yet. Word has it that this movie is a remake of the 1962 film with the name "Mahatma Kabir" in which the lead role was played by late Dr Rajkumar.
In the past, Bachchan has made a cameo appearence in a Kannada film "Amrithadhare" which starred Ramya and Dhyan (Sameer Dattani) in lead roles.
The Bollywood A-lister has recently completed the shooting of his upcoming movie "Bhoothnath Returns."
"Finished and wrapped for 'Bhoothnath Returns' including the credit song with Yo Yo (Honey Singh). Me thinks we did alright," Bachchan posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
