Director Puri Jagannath, who is basking in the success of "Temper" has finally opened up about the much-hyped 150th film of Chiranjeevi.
Additionally, he also said that Amitabh Bachchan has agreed to play a guest role in the film if he directs the megastar.
Names of several leading Tollywood directors have been linked with this project and Puri Jagannath is one among them. Though several speculations were made on his association with Chiru in this project, the director chose to keep mum on the issue until now.
Puri Jagannath spoke extensively about Chiranjeevi's comeback movie during an interview with Deccan Chronicle, When quizzed about Chiru's 150th film, the "Temper" director noted that those are all still rumours. Meanwhile, he also credited Amitabh's for recommending his name to the megastar.
"I want to bring to your notice about an incident that took place during the premiere show of 'Buddah Hoga Tera Baap.' Mr Bachchan was in Hyderabad and during the press meet, he asked Chiranjeevi to get back to movies with his 150th film and recommended my name to direct it," Deccan Chronicle quoted Puri as saying.
He also revealed that Amitabh had promised to make a guest appearance in Chiru's 150th movie. "Big B had also said that he would do a guest role in the movie if I directed it. However, we have never discussed it though I have met Chiranjeevi several times," added the director.
Though he is interested to work with Chiranjeevi in his comeback film, the director says that he has not prepared a script for it. "Right now, I don't have a script but it would be a great honour if I got the opportunity to direct Chiranjeevi's 150th film," Puri Jagannath said when quizzed about whether he has a script that is suitable for the megastar.
This highly-talked about film will be produced with a whopping budget by Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan. Paruchuri Brothers -- Venkateswara Rao and Gopala Krishna -- are reportedly busy working on its script. Chiru is said to be working out and is on a strict diet to maintain his physique for the film. While Puri's name has come up for the film, rumour has it that VV Vinayak has already been roped in as director.
