America's Got Talent Season 10 (AGT 2015) has entered the semi-finals stage, with 11 acts hitting the stage in the first week. However, only five of them will make it to the finals and six of them will be eliminated on Wednesday.
Arielle Baril (Opera singer), Benton Blount (Singer), Drew Lynch (Stand-up comedian), Ira (Singing puppet), Metal Mulisha Fitz Army (Stunt motocross team), Mountain Faith Band (Bluegrass band), Samantha Johnson (Singer), Siro-A (Dance group), The CraigLewis Band (Singers), Derek Hughes (Magician), and Oz Pearlman (Mentalist) performed live on Tuesday before judges Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, Mel B and Heidi Klum.
The remaining 11 acts will be part of semi-finals 2, next week. So, a total of 10 acts will be in the finals.
Semi-finals 1 Recap:
Ira: It was an entertaining performance, but there was nothing new. Have you ever come across similar performances in the past? Maybe or may not be, but it looked like it's a repetition of an old act.
Mountain Faith Band: They performed The Weeknd's "I Can't Feel My Face". It was a good performance with great setup that matches the season. The judges thought they could have done better in vocals, but the audience seemed to love their performance and that's what matters.
Metal Mulisha Fitz Army: They were brought back to the semis via wild card by the judges, so pressure could have been weighing down on them. In fact, it was a do-or-die act. And, they managed to pull through with a stunning act.
Samantha Johnson: She performed The Weeknd's "Earned It". She drove the judges and the audience crazy with her wonderful voice and stunning makeover. This performance should push her through to the finals.
Derek Hughes: It was an interesting act that ranges from bedtime story to a smiley face. Audience seemed to love the act as it was something different from other magicians had done in the past, but Mel B found it boring.
Drew Lynch: He is really funny. He can make people laugh with his facial expressions. The best thing is that he can laugh at himself and audience loves him. He should be in the finals.
The CraigLewis Band: They performed "A Change Is Gonna Come" by Sam Cook and it was a rocking performance. They should find a place in the finals.
Oz Pearlman: He called judges Howard and Heidi on stage for his act. He predicted the drink Howard would choose even as Heidi covered his eyes. He also said that vodka martini was on Mel B's mind at that moment and it was right.
Benton Blount: He performed the song "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten. He put up a good show after a shaky start.
SIRO-A: As expected, they put up another stunning performance. They received a standing ovation from the judges and that tells it all.
Arielle Baril: The 12-year-old sand opera classic, "Nessun Dorma", by Luciano Pavarotti and it was a wonderful performance. She nailed it and impressed the judges and audience alike.
So, who will proceed to the finals? Going by their performances, it looks like SIRO-A, Arielle Baril, The CraigLewis Band, Samantha Johnson, and Drew Lynch should be in the finals, and other acts --- Benton Blount, Oz Pearlman, Derek Hughes, Metal Mulisha Fitz Army, Mountain Faith Band and Ira -- could be in the danger zone. However, anything can happen as it is the audience who will pick the qualifiers through their votes.
