The semifinals round 2 of "America's Got Talent" 2014 season 9 will kick off at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Tuesday with 12 contestants performing live on stage for America's vote.
The two-hour semifinals 2 episode will be telecast live on NBC at 8:00 PM on Tuesday (6:30 am IST, Wednesday). Only six of the 12 semifinalists will advance to the round of 12. The winners of tonight's show will be announced on Wednesday's elimination episode.
The 12 contestants, who will perform live on Tuesday to impress judges - Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, Mel B and Heidi Klum – and the audience, are AcroArmy (Acrobats), Balia Comingo (Latin dance troupe) Blue Journey (Shadow dancing act), Christian Stoinev (Extreme hand balancer), Emil and Dariel (Cellists), Jaycob Curlee (Singer/guitarist), Jonah Smith (Singer/guitarist), Kelli Glover (Singer), Mat Franco (Close-up magician), Quintavious Johnson (Child singer), Smoothini (Close-up magician), and Wendy Liebman (Comedian).
America can save one of the contestants during the live show via Google. Snapple Save allows one of the acts that finish in fifth, sixth and seventh place to be saved from elimination, and host Nick Cannon will announce the winner at the end of the show. Tuesday's episode will also witness Maroon 5 perform.
Last week, six of the contestants advanced to semifinals and the other six were sent home.
Here are six contestants who got a spot in the semifinals:
Mara Justine: The singer advanced to the next stage through Snapple Save. She performed "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson last week.
Mike Super: The mystifier stunned the judges and audience alike with his performance last week and earned a place in the next round.
Miguel Dakota: The singer and guitarist performed "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes.
Sons of Serendip: The band performed "Don't You Worry Child" by Swedish House Mafia.
David & Leeman: The magician, who earned the praises of the judges with his trick on Tuesday last week, advanced to the next round through Judges' Choice.
Emily West: The singer performed "Who Wants To Live Forever" by Queen.
The six contestants, who were sent home during last week's elimination round, are Bad Boys of Ballet, Flight Crew Jump Rope, Andrey Moraru, Paul Ieti, Dan Naturman, and Aerial Animation.
Six out of the 12 contestants in tonight's show will be shown the doors based on their live performance during the elimination episode on Wednesday.
