Canadian artists continue to dominate this year's music award shows. After MTV EMAs (Europe Music Awards) 2016, Canadian artists took the spotlight again with their performances at the American Music Awards 2016.

Drake, who set a record by receiving 13 nominations, and Twenty One Pilots have bagged two awards each as of now. Zayn Malik has won the new artist of the year unleashed by T-Mobile, while The Chainsmokers won the favourite artist — electronic dance music award on Sunday night.
