A US huntress has sparked outrage on social media after she uploaded a series of photos showing carcasses of animals including a giraffe, warthog and an impala she killed.
Sabrina Corgatelli, a hunting enthusiast from Boise, Idaho, posted the images of her kills during a trip to South Africa on her Facebook page.
On 25 July, she posted the picture of a dead giraffe, saying, "Day #2 I got a amazing old Giraffe. Such an amazing animal!! I couldn't be any happier!! My emotion after getting him was a feeling I will never forget!!!"
This incident comes after animal rights activists strongly criticised trophy hunters after Zimbabwe's famous Cecil the lion was shot down by a US dentist, Walter Palmer, last month.
In a nationally televised interview with NBC's Today show on 3 August, Corgatelli defended trophy hunting, adding, "Everybody thinks we're cold-hearted killers and it's not that. There is a connection to the animal, and just because we hunt them doesn't mean we don't have a respect for them. Giraffes are very dangerous animals. They could hurt you seriously, very quickly."
Though several social media users abused her online, Corgatelli hit back at them, saying, "To all the haters. Stay tuned, you're gonna have so much more to be p****d off about."
