The thrilling and spooky new season of "American Horror Story: Hotel" will return on Wednesday, 7 October, and it will see a number of shady characters checking into Hotel Cortez.
The premiere episode will introduce viewers to Elizabeth aka The Countess, the owner of Hotel Cortez, who lives in the penthouse and loves watching classic horror movies. While The Countess is indeed a creepy character, it remains to be seen if she is aware of the secrets that remain hidden in the hotel, which originally belonged to a man named James March.
Pop icon Lady Gaga essays the role of The Countess and for most of the first hour, she walks around without speaking. But, the viewers will get a glimpse of Gaga's true acting skills in the season premiere itself.
"When the Countess finally does speak, showing a young boy around some of the more hidden parts of her hotel, she makes quite a chilling impact," noted NPR.
Gaga has been praised a lot for her acting debut. Showrunner Ryan Murphy is so impressed with Gaga that he has even requested her to return for season 6 of "American Horror Story".
"Lady Gaga is so brilliant in AHS Season 5 that yesterday I officially asked her to join Season 6. Say yes @ladygaga!" he tweeted on Tuesday.
As for what to expect in the premiere of "American Horror Story: Hotel", the synopsis hints at Wes Bentley's Detective Jon Lowe checking into the hotel to investigate a chain of frightful murders.
The official synopsis of "Checking In" reads:
Detective and family man John Lowe investigates a chain of gruesome murders in Los Angeles. A mysterious tip points him to the enigmatic Hotel Cortez.
"American Horror Story" Season 5 premieres on FX on Wednesday, 7 October, at 10 pm ET. Besides Gaga and Bentley, the cast includes Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Angela Bassett and Max Greenfield, among others.
