Cheating scandals aren't particularly rare in Hollywood; in fact, they have become so common and mainstream that we aren't even surprised to read about them anymore. However, scandals and divorces may not be the only results of cheating on your spouses as it turns out many celebrity wives used to be mistresses before legally marrying their husbands.
Here are some of the popular actresses that used to be mistresses -- at least according to the paparazzi -- before becoming one half of a Hollywood power couple:
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp
Depp was in a long-term committed relationship with Vanessa Paradis for 14 years, vowing to never get married, when he met Amber Heard on the sets of "The Rum Diary". According to Depp's recollection of their first meeting, he was smitten by the Hitchcock blonde immediately: "When I first saw Amber, it was like seeing an old-time movie star like Lauren Bacall." The duo fell in love, and married in a private civil ceremony in 2015.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
The Jennifer Aniston/Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie love triangle in early 2000s became a huge scandal that split not only the married couple, but also best friends who chose to side with Team Aniston or Team Jolie. Pitt and Jolie, who met during the filming of "Mr and Mrs Smith", fell in love. Pitt claims there was no infidelity. A decade later, they not only have a wonderful marriage, but also six children -- biological and adopted.
Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr
"American Idol" contestant Brittany Kerr was branded as a home-wrecker when the paparazzi found her kissing then-married country singer Jason Aldean. The scandal caused widespread outrage, forcing Kerr to even shut down her Twitter page as violent and insensitive tweets had started flooding in. Aldean, however, asked his fans to move on in an instagram post: "I have made mistakes but i am a better person because of it, and wouldnt change a thing," he wrote, adding: "Im happier than i have ever been, so thank u to all the people who support us. We are happy and life goes on." Aldean and Kerr got married in October 2012.
LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian
Rimes, who was married to her first husband for 7 years, and Eddie Cibrian, who was married to model Brandi Glanville for 8 years, cheated on their respective spouses to be with each other. They met on the sets of "Northern Lights" and got married in 2011. Glanville, who openly spoke about Rimes and Cibrians' affair, was requested not to by her ex-husband in an open letter. "I can't change the past and I'm truly sorry that people got hurt along the way but not everything reported in the media is reality and continuing to rehash things publicly only makes it more difficult for everyone to heal. I hope for the sake of our children we can all move forward and heal privately. I wish their mother nothing but the best."
Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade
Grabielle Union, the star of "Being Mary Jane", started dating the Miami Heat player Dwayne Wade when the latter was still married to Siohvaughn Wade. Although the couple briefly split up in 2013, during which he got girlfriend Aja Metoyer pregnant, the couple's life looks like a fairytale. They got married in 2014 after a six-month engagement.
