'Ambarsariya,' 'Love Punjab,' 'Ardaas' continue to make good collection at overseas box office

Old Punjabi releases "Ambarsariya," "Love Punjab" and "Ardaas" have continued to keep the cash registers ringing at the overseas box office this weekend.

There was no new release from the Punjabi film industry in the key international markets. But some trade analysts had predicted new big-ticket Bollywood release "Ki and Ka," starring Kareena and Arjun Kapoor, would halt the collection of "Ambarsariya," "Love Punjab" and "Ardaas" at the overseas box office. It did slow down their collection, but not as was predicted.

"Ambarsariya" has collected US$207,131 at the overseas box office in its second weekend and its 10-day international total stands approximately at $1,331,972 (Rs. 8.88 crore). The movie has topped the international business chart for Punjabi movies. The film has also topped Canada collection chart for Indian movies, beating big-ticket Bollywood flicks "Ki and Ka" and "Kapoor and Sons."

"Love Punjab" has collected approximately US$43,789 from 28 screens in the four international markets like the US, the UK, Canada and Australia in its fourth weekend. Its per-screen average stands at US$1,563. The movie is estimated to have grossed US$2,210,040 (Rs. 14.68 crore) at the US box office in 24 days.

"Ardaas" has grossed approximately US$19,555 from 28 screens in the US, UK and Australia in its fourth weekend. Its per-screen average stands at US$698. The movie is estimated to have collected US$1,032,722 (Rs. 6.87 crore) at the overseas box office in 24 days.
