Amazon India would hold its annual Great Indian Festival Sale from October1 to October 5. The USP of Amazon's sale this time around, apart from huge discounts on products, is the fact that customers get to check out their products in just one day.
Amazon India has stated that it would implement one-day deliveries of select products, though the list of these products is yet to be made official. Same-day delivery is also applicable on certain products.
Elite customers are also eligible to get relatively early access to popular deals before these are made live to the general customers. Delivery time periods, on products ordered during the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale, include two days, deliveries on Sundays and even customised times (as chosen by customers, probably applicable to the elite).
Amazon seems to be looking at competing with the other big Indian e-commerce firms by announcing its Great Indian Festival Sale to start a day before these are kicked off by Flipkart and Snapdeal. Flipkart's Big Billion Day and Snapdeal's festive deals will be held from October 2 to October 6.
"This year we recognise and celebrate the big heartedness that underlies festivities and have themed the Great Indian Festival as Tyohar Bade Dilwala. We are delighted to celebrate this with our customers as much as with the entire ecosystem of our sellers, vendors and partners to bring festive cheer all over the country," Amit Agarwal, VP and country Head at Amazon India, said.
"Tyohar Bade Dilwala celebrates the feeling of happiness and generosity that unites us all and is at the heart of this period of festivities. Festivals encourage magnanimity that manifests into acts of benevolence not just towards immediate family members but also towards extended friends & family as well as society at large," Manish Tiwary, vice president, category management, Amazon India, said.
