While Sony is yet to divulge details about "The Amazing Spiderman 3," recent rumours suggest that the movie may have a spin-off with Aunt May in the role of a spy. Aunt May might be portrayed in a younger version, before she started raising Peter Parker.
Sony may base the movie on the 2003 romance mini-series titled "Trouble", which features Aunt May, Uncle Ben, Richard and Mary Parker in their youth, according to Latino Review.
In the book, May reportedly gets pregnant with Richard's baby and gives him to Mary. However, further reports say that this story was not well accepted by fans and there are minimal chances that Sony would like to adapt this series on screen.
On the other hand, it is being said that Aunt May could play Agent Peggy Carter, inspired by "Mad Men." However, nothing has been confirmed yet. Moreover, when Comic Book Resources tried to reach Sony for the validity of news, the studio's source rubbished these rumours.
Sony bosses are reportedly coming up with various versions of Spiderman spin-offs including, "Venom Carnage" and "Sinister Six" and the rumours of Aunt May spy movie and other female centric movies may come true.
Rumours of a full-fledged movie based on Gwen Stacey, where she would be seen playing a Spiderwoman and Peter Parker would be seen in a role of lizard, were also doing the rounds.
In other news, Spiderman is speculated to feature with Marvel Universe's heroes in the civil war, which may take place in the film "Captain America: Civil War." However, possibilities of Sony allowing its superhero to become a part of Marvel's universe are very low and Daredevil is being considered as an option to replace Spiderman.
Marvel has no masked heroes and that was the main reason why there was much anticipation to see Spiderman joining hands with Marvel heroes. Just like Aunt May movie, Sony is yet to confirm the surreal possibility of sending Spiderman to take part in the Civil War.
