There is a buzz about Andrew Garfield reprising his role in "The Amazing Spider-Man 3." After the Sony email hack controversy it was reported that the actor was ousted from the third installment of the franchise, however, now it is rumoured that Garfield will play the titular role.
A casting call for extras in the movie has reportedly indicated that Garfield and Dane Dehaan are the main leads of the film. Bill Beckman Casting sent out a call for male and females who can play extras in the film and also confirmed that Sony was producing the film. "Peter Parker/Spider-man faces a new challenge to protect New York City," reads the description of the film. The shooting location is said to be Atlanta, GA.
"Amazing Spider-Man 3" is speculated to release in 2018 but if the casting call is to be believed then the film could hit the screens much before. "The fact that there is already a casting call out means that shooting is either already happening, or very soon to come, so we have to imagine that the new Spidey film is scheduled for much earlier than 2018," says a Cinema Blend report.
The confirmation on the film's shoot is yet to come.
Meanwhile, it was previously said that Marvel will be taking over the popular franchise and will rope in a new actor for the role of Spidey. They reportedly wanted to start the film with a clean slate. A number of actors were shortlisted by various media sites for the role of Spider-Man. At one point, it was also said that Tobey Maguire might make a comeback.
Russ Burlingame of Comic Book had noted that Maguire would attract interest from casual fans if cast in "Amazing Spider-Man 3." He also said that Jeff Robinov at Sony told Amy Pascal he wanted Spiderman to age.
