Upcoming Malayalam movies, "Amar Akbar Anthony" and "Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi", which are gearing up to hit screens on Friday, have received clean U certificates from the Censor Board.
Nadirshah's debut directorial "Amar Akbar Anthony" is a comedy thriller, while Anil Radhakirshnan Menon's third film "Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi" (LL7K) is a fantasy adventure.
The multi-starrer "Amar Akbar Anthony" has Prithviraj, Indrajith and Jayasurya in the lead roles. The previous time the trio had come together, they had achieved huge success in the form of the 2006 blockbuster movie "Classmates".
On the other hand, "Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi", which is a film for all generations, does not have a protagonist as such. The film has eight key characters played by Kunchako Boban, Reenu Mathews, Sunny Wayne, Bharath, Chemban Vinod, Nedumudi Venu, Sudheer Karamana and Jacob Gregory.
Both the previous films of Anil -- "North 24 Kaatham"(2013) and "Sapthamashree Thaskaraha" (2014) -- were critically acclaimed and had also performed remarkably well at the box office.
In the case of "Amar Akbar Anthony", it is is one of the much awaited films of the year as it is Nadhirshah's first attempt to direct a film. He has already proved his talent in acting, mimicry, parody and many other fields in the entertainment world.
With "LL7K" and "Amar Akbar Anthony" set to clash at the box office on 16 October, film-goers are spoilt with two most-awaited movies of the year this weekend.
