Srinu Viatla's Amar Akbar Anthony (AAA) has received an average opening at the worldwide box office on the first day. The movie has failed to beat the collection record of Ravi Teja's Touch Chesi Chudu (TCC).
Amar Akbar Anthony is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, which has delivered hits like Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage and Rangasthalam. The banner is expected to get a big break to Ravi Teja and Srinu Vaitla, whose career has hit a rough patch with back to back flops.
The promos of the film garnered a lot of attention and the producers have also spent heavily on its production and publicity.
The hype helped Amar Akbar Anthony register good advance booking for its opening day. The movie opened to good response and witnessed in the morning shows on Friday. But the film garnered negative reviews from the film goers and the word of mouth took a toll on its collection at the box office in the later shows.
As per early estimates, Amar Akbar Anthony has collected around Rs 7.50 crore gross at the worldwide box office on the first day. The movie has shattered the record of Nela Ticket, which grossed Rs 6.7 crore in the global market on its opening day, but it could not shatter the record of Touch Chesi Chudu, which minted Rs 8.70 crore gross.
Amar Akbar Anthony has earned Rs 4 crore for its distributors, who have shelled out Rs 22 crore on its theatrical rights. Here is the table detailing the comparative picture of its area-wise earnings with Nela Ticket (NT) and Touch Chesi Chudu (TCC).
