The little reunion was a heartfelt moment as Meron tweeted his reply, "I was so happy to see you and share a meal." Amanda had played the role of Penny Pingleton, best friend to Nikki Blonsky's character in the 2007 remake of 'Hairspray'. Nikki also responded to the picture on Twitter, "Nikki Blonsky. "What a great #reunion @amandabynes." Bynes was later seen in 'Easy A' back in 2010 which happened to be her last film.
The picture portrays a smiling Amanda in the pink-of-health looking fashionable in a checked monochrome blouse featuring a ruffled collar. She sports a natural fresh look with her hair styled in a simple top bun.
Amanda's last post on Twitter was in February this year when she shared a picture of herself at dinner with friends.
Bynes who shot to fame as a child star in Nickelodeon series, 'All That and by 13' has been in the public eye for her struggle with mental health issues and run-ins with the law involving driving under the influence, hit and run incidents and possession of illegal drugs. Following this, Amanda was involuntarily hospitalised in a psychiatric institution in October 2014. However, it definitely seems like things are on the upside for the 32-year-old actress.
Reportedly, Bynes' family attorney recently shared an update about the actress' improvement following her conservatorship in 2014. It is said that she is now living on her own and making her own decisions, while gearing up to graduate from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising later this year.
Backed by a strong support structure of family and friends, Bynes is also preparing to launch her own fashion line, Vintage by A.B. next spring.
Seeing Amanda out and about with Neil Meron gives her fans hope that the actress might soon return to the big screen. Meron is responsible for producing NBC's wildly successful live musical forays along with a huge number of Oscars telecasts. Next on his list is 2019 musical Hair Live!
