Post filing for divorce with director AL Vijay, South Indian actress Amala Paul seems to be back with a bang in her acting career. Latest reports suggest that she has been roped in to play the lead role in an upcoming Telugu movie, which is the remake of the superhit Malayalam movie Oru Vadakkan Selfie.
Rumours have it that Amala will romance Allari Naresh in the comedy entertainer, in which the duo will reprise the roles played by Manjima Mohan and Nivin Pauly, respectively. It is also understood that Ala Ela director Anish Krishna will helm the remake version of Vineeth Sreenivasan's directorial venture.
Oru Vadakkan Selfie narrates the story of a 21-year-old carefree engineering student with many back papers to clear. In order to get quick fame and money, he decides to try his luck in filmmaking along with his close friends, with an aim in assisting popular director Gautham Vasudev Menon. Meanwhile, he falls in love with his neighbour, whom he tries to impress during a train journey to Chennai but fails miserably. A few unexpected events that later happen in his life form the gist of the movie, which also conveys a strong social message that is relevant these days with the advancement of technology.

Meanwhile, even though rumours had it that Amala has been facing an unofficial ban in Tamil cinema, she is believed to have a few exciting projects in her kitty, including Dhanush's Vada Chennai and Sudeep's Hebbuli. She will also be paired opposite Bobby Simha in the thriller Thiruttu Payale 2, to be directed by Susi Ganeshan.

After the divorce news made headlines, Amala refrained from commenting on the matter and had even stayed away from social media. Recently, the actress hogged the limelight after being selected as the brand ambassador of Chennai Rockers team for the Celebrity Badminton League. She was also spotted attending a few functions and has been sharing photos of her birthday celebrations on her social media page.
