Dhanush had announced on Monday, Aug. 29, that he would produce Rajinikanth's next film, which will be directed by Pa Ranjith. The latest buzz is that Amala Paul is likely to play the female lead in the forthcoming Tamil movie.
Rumours are rife that Amala Paul is being considered for Rajinikanth and Pa Ranjith's next movie. The actress is said to share a good relationship with Dhanush and has already worked in two movies ("Velaiyilla Pattathari" and "Amma Kanakku") made by his production house, Wunderbar Films.
She is also working in Dhanush's next venture, "Vada Chennai." Hence, Amala Paul is a strong contender to play the female lead in the Rajinikanth-starrer. If the reports turns out to be true, it will be a big break for the actress, who has made a comeback after parting ways with her husband, AL Vijay. The Kerala-based actress is currently working in Kiccha Sudeep's Kannada movie, "Hebbuli."
Meanwhile, reports have said that Rajinikanth and Pa Ranjith are collaborating for a "Kabali" sequel. But sources have denied the speculations, saying that they are teaming up for a fresh project.
The forthcoming movie will commence once Rajinikanth wraps up his next movie, "2.0" aka "Enthiran 2." Dhanush is collaborating with his father-in-law and superstar Rajinikanth for the first time. Wunderbar Films has churned out many successful movies, including "Ethir Neechal," "Velaiyilla Pattathari" and "Naanum Rowdydhaan."
Announcing the project, Dhanush recently tweeted, "I'm so proud and honoured to announce our production's next film #WunderbarFilms. [sic]." It was retweeted by Pa Ranjith, who posted, "Magizchi!!!!."
