Four days after the rumours of celebrity couple AL Vijay and Amala Paul heading for a divorce started doing the rounds on social media, the "Madrasapattinam" director has opened up on the matter.
Vijay is said to have told reporters that he is not spilling the beans now and will listen to what his parents decide on the matter. With Vijay not slamming the rumour, the latest statement indicates that all is not well between the couple. It is also understood that their relationship hit rock bottom after Amala committed multiple projects in Tamil and Malayalam despite the disapproval of Vijay's parents after their marriage, which took place on June 12, 2014.

It has also to be noted that the actress who used to post many photos with Vijay on her social media pages hasn't shared any image of them together this year. The last time she posted their photo was taken during her birthday celebration in Thailand in October 2015 suggesting that there have been issues between the couple for quite some time.
However, Amala hasn't responded on the matter yet and multiple sources close to the actress had told International Business Times India that the couple might file for divorce on mutual consent basis soon due to the differences in their lifestyle.
Amala's movies that were released after her wedding are "Mili," "Lailaa O Lailaa," "Pasanga 2" "2 Penkuttikal," "Amma Kanakku" and she was last seen with Kunchacko Boban and Jayasurya in "Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum." Apart from these movies, she had also appeared for an item dance in Fahadh Faasil's "Iyobinte Pusthakam" in 2014. The actress has also signed Kiccha Sudeep-starrer Kannada movie "Hebbuli" and Dhanush's "Vada Chennai." Meanwhile, Vijay has the multi-lingual horror thriller "Abhinetri" / "Devi(L)" lined up for the year.
