Yesteryear actress Amala Akkineni, who impressed the Kerala audience with her performance in just two movies in 1991, will soon make her comeback to Mollywood after 25 years.
The "Ente Sooryaputhrikku" and "Ulladakkam" actress, who has been staying away from the entertainment industry, will be next seen in director Antony Sony Sebastian's upcoming Malayalam movie titled "C/O Saira Banu." Antony had earlier revealed that Manju Warrier will be seen in the lead role as a postwoman in his directorial venture.
"Manju warrier is playing the title character Saira Banu, she is a postwoman and Amala is doing the role of Advocate Ani John Tharavady," Antony told International Business Times India. The filmmaker, who rose to fame with his short film "Moonnamidam," also revealed that the emotional drama will go on floors in September. "Shane Nigam of 'Kismath'-fame will also be part of the movie and we are planning to release it by December during Christmas season," the director, who has earlier worked with Rosshan Andrrews, told IBTimes India.
Even though few reports had stated that the movie will be based on photographer Victor George's missing case, the director has refuted the rumours.
RJ Shaan, who acted in the short film "Moonamidam" with Rachana Narayanankutty, has penned the script of the upcoming movie and the dialogues have been written by Bibin Chandran. The movie is being bankrolled by Eros International in association with Mactro Films.
Manju was last seen in Deepu Karunakaran's sports movie, "Karinkunnam 6S," which had received mixed response from the Kerala audience.
