Finnish technology giant, Nokia on Tuesday (18 November) officially unveiled the new all-metal cover based Android tablet N1.
After dabbling with AOSP (Android Open Source Project) based Nokia X series phones earlier this year, the company has unveiled the full-fledged Android tablet Nokia N1, which looks poised to give a stiff challenge to the recently released Apple iPad Mini 3.
On the outlook, Nokia N1 looks like a clone of iconic iPad series tablet. It boasts of Aluminum cover (with surface anodization) and curved corners. Even the front-camera module placement is uncannily similar to the Apple slate.
However, Nokia N1 differs in terms of internal hardware. It ships with Android's latest 5.0 Lollipop OS with Nokia Z launcher UI and is powered by 2.3GHz Intel 64-bit Atom Z3580 series CPU, and comes with 2GB RAM and a 5GB eMMC memory.
Other stipulated features include 8.0-megapixel camera (with auto-focus, full video recording ability), a 5.0-megapixel camera, 5,300 mAh lithium polymer battery, Bluetooth v4.0 and Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with MIMO; dual-band: 2.4GHz & 5GHz).
Nokia N1 Price and Release Details:
According to The Verge, Nokia N1 might get released first in China around February next year, coinciding with Chinese New Year for just $249 (Around €199/₹15,400) and later to other regions.
