Debutant Bellamkonda Sreenivas's "Alludu Seenu" has received decent reviews from critics.
Directed by Vinayak, "Alludu Seenu" has Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam, Pradeep Rawat and Tanikella Bharani in pivotal roles. The comedy action drama has music composed by Devi Sri Prasad and Bellamkonda Suresh has produced the film under Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Productions banner.
Plot: Alludu Seenu (Bellamkonda Sreenivas) and his uncle Narsimha (Prakash Raj) lead their lives by conning people. When they face the wrath of the villagers, they decide to run away to Chennai but board a wrong train and reach Hyderabad.
In a situation, Seenu comes across the dreaded don Bhai who is a lookalike of his uncle. Soon, he plans to earn big bucks by using Bhai's assistant Dimple (Brahmanandam). He also falls in love with Bhai's daughter Anjali (Samantha), who also reciprocates his love. Later, Seenu finds out a secret about Bhai and what happens next forms the crux of the story.
Critics have appreciated Sreenivas's dance movements and his performance in the action sequences. However, they said that the debutant needs to improve his acting skills. Brahmanandam and Prakash Raj's performances are among the highlights of the film, while Samantha appears in a glamorous avatar. Comedy is a major plus point in the commercial entertainer, said the critics.
On the flip side, the film has nothing new to offer and is just a routine entertainer. Predictable content and wrong placement of songs are some of the minus points in the film, according to the critics.
Here is the review roundup of "Alludu Seenu"
"Alludu Seenu is a brand Vinayak's film that is targeted at the entertainment loving audience. There are some comedy scenes that are genuinely funny, but that is not just enough for a film to stay afloat at the box office. Vinayak did everything to please the masses. There is lots of grandeur, lots of action, lots of glamour, but it lacks the most essential one, a strong script," said Gulte.
"A full-on commercial film where comedy scenes, songs, fights and sentimental scenes come in the expected measure, according to Indiaglitz.
"Alludu Seenu is a tailor made launch pad for Bellamkonda Sreenivas. He makes an impressive debut and enthralls everyone with his dances and fights. Samantha's glamour, V V Vinayak's routine but entertaining commercial aspects, and Brahmi's hilarious comedy makes this film a wholesome entertainer," said 123telugu.
"The film is you typical commercial subject. The 1st half sets up the premise and is ordinary with a few laughs then and there. The 2nd half is slightly better owing to some what better comedy. Songs are nice and comedy is okay. But the story line gives very limited scope to sustain the audience interest barring the comedy scenes," according to OM of Andhraboxoffice.
Verdict: Routine Commercial Entertainer
