Telugu actor Allu Arjun is all set to make his debut in the Tamil film industry. The actor, who has always wished to work in Kollywood, has finally given a nod to act in a film that would be directed by Lingusamy and produced by KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green.
The movie was launched on Thursday, September 22, in Chennai. The event was formally inaugurated by lighting a lamp. Speaking at the launch, producer KE Gnanavel Raja said that the as-yet untitled film will be like his super hit film, Paurthiveeran, and claimed that it will be a landmark movie in Lingusamy's career.
Allu Arjun said that he was in Chennai for 20 years and considers himself a local resident of the city. Referring to the producer's comment, the Arya actor said there should not be any comparisons between his film and Parurthiveeran. What impressed the guests at the event was his ability to speak Tamil.
Lingusamy heaped praises on Allu Arjun's dancing skills and talked about his popularity among the youths in Tamil Nadu. Sivakumar welcomed the Sarrainodu star to the Tamil industry, and wished all the success to the entire team.
The shooting of the bilingual film will start in February 2017, and it is likely to be released later in the year. The makers are yet to reveal the other cast and crew members of the upcoming flick.
While Allu Arjun is busy with his Telugu film, Duvvada Jagannadham, which is written and directed by Harish Shankar, Lingusamy has to wrap up his Sandakozhi 2, before moving on to his next project with the Telugu star.
