The makers of Stylish Star Allu Arjun's "Sarainodu" (also spelled as Sarrainodu) have postponed the film's release to avoid a clash with Pawan Kalyan's "Sardar Gabbar Singh" at the box office.
"Sarainodu" was initially scheduled to release in theatres around the world on April 8, which happens to be the 33th birthday of Allu Arjun. Trade experts had predicted that there would be a big clash at the box office and fans would split between the two movies, leading to losses to both the producers.
Bunny, who adores the Power Star a lot, reportedly requested the makers of "Sarainodu" to delay its release by two weeks, so that "Sardar Gabbar Singh" rakes in decent figures. "Allu Arjun always gives respect to Pawan Kalyan and he never competes with him. So he decided to release on April 22," the Deccan Herald quoted a source.
"Sardar Gabbar Singh" will hit the screens on April 8. "The makers had originally planned to release the film on April 8, which happens to be Arjun's birthday. However, Pawan Kalyan's 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh' releases on the same day and, hence, they have locked April 22 as the release day," another source told IANS.
"Sarainodu" is touted to be an action entertainer. The film is written and directed by Boyapati Srinu and produced by Allu Aravind under his banner Geetha Arts. Allu Arjun will be seen romancing Rakul Preet Singh in the movie, which features Srikanth in crucial role. S Thaman is composing the music for the film and its audio album is likely to be released soon.
"Sardaar Gabbar Singh" is also an action film directed by KS Ravindra and jointly produced by Pawan Kalyan and Sharath Marar under their banners Pawan Kalyan Creative Works and Northstar Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. It is a sequel of the 2012 blockbuster film "Gabbar Singh". Pawan Kalyan and Kajal Aggarwal are playing the leads in the film, which will have Devi Sri Prasad's music.
