There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the upcoming Allu Arjun-Trivikram film ever since it went on floors.
Speculations were rife as to who would play the villain in the film. There were reports claiming that Arjun ("Kadali" fame) will appear as the baddie but the actor refuted the rumours. Later, reports emerged that Kannada actor Upendra will play the bad guy's role in the Trivirkam directorial.
However, reliable sources from the film's unit have now stated that Upendra would not do the negative character in the film but would instead appear in a pivotal role, reported The Times of India.
The untitled Trivikram project will reportedly have three heroines. While Samantha and Adah Sharma have been confirmed to play the female leads, there is a buzz that Pranitha will appear as the third heroine in the film.
"Director (Trivikram) was keen on having Pranitha on board right from the onset. However, the filmmakers wanted to wait to see how 'Rabhasa' (in which Pranitha played the second lead) fared at the BO, before taking the final call. It is a small, but significant role and Trivikram believes Pranitha is a perfect fit for it," TOI quoted a source from the film's unit as saying.
If Pranitha becomes part of the project, it will be her second film with Trivikram after Pawan Kalyan starrer "Attarintiki Daaredi".
Sneha, Vennela Kishore and Surekha Vani are also reportedly part of the cast. However, an official announcement regarding the cast and crew is yet to come out.
Meanwhile, the production of the Allu Arjun starrer has commenced and is progressing well. The shoot took place in Hyderabad for a few days, and the next schedule will reportedly take place in Ooty.
"After Dasara the unit will leave for Ooty for a big schedule. The two female leads Samantha, and Adah Sharma along with Upendra and Sneha will be part of this important schedule," a source from the unit told Deccan Chronicle.
The film will be Allu Arjun's second project with Trivikram after "Julayi", which fared well at the box office. There are massive expectations on the actor-director duo, and it needs to be seen if their upcoming project will repeat the success of "Julayi". The film is expected to hit the screens in 2015.
