A purported image of Redmi Note 2 has surfaced online revealing a key feature of the device.
Twitter spy leaksfly has posted a Xiaomi device photo, alleged to be the soon-to-be released Redmi Note 2. In the picture, we see the rear-side of the smartphone with the trademark 'MI' logo at the bottom and the over-all design looks tad similar to the first generation Redmi Note, except the colouring pattern of the device, which seems to resemble the iconic Apple iPhones. It features silver hued bottom and top edges and white colour in the middle.
Another key aspect of image is the presence of circular space below the camera (with LED flash) module, hinting that the company might have incorporated finger-print sensor or a power button, like we see in the select LG smartphones.
But the presence of the two keys on the edge rule out the possibility of power button option on the rear-side, leading many to believe that this might indeed be the finger imprint scanner. [View the image, HERE].
While the feature might be fresh for the phone, it raises questions on the price of the device, as incorporation of advanced biometric technology does not come cheap (for example Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple iPhone 6).
Redmi Note has always been targeted at budget conscious buyers and it is being speculated if this another Redmi Note 2, another variant of Mi Note or the rumoured flagship Mi5.
So far, like other smartphone makers, Xiaomi has chosen to remain silent and not to respond to speculations. We will finally know all the details next week.
Expected Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Release date:
Xiaomi co-founder and CEO Lei Jun via his official Weibo account hinted at the release of the 'new Redmi Note' as 29 June. Many are betting that the company will announce the second generation budget phablet, rather than any high end phablet, as it has been less than six months since the premium Mi Note and Note Pro hit stores.
