First leaked photo of an alleged iPhone SE 2 rear glass panel has been spotted on the Chinese micro-blogging site, Weibo. The leak reveals the Ion-X glass panels of the iPhone SE 2, which is identical to those on the Apple Watch Sport.
The leaked internal document accompanying the glass back panels also suggests that 'N79' will be the handset's model number. A closer look at the leaked image also indicates that the iPhone SE 2 will feature wireless charging capability like the highly-rumoured next-gen iPhones (including the flagship iPhone 8) that are expected to be launched later this year.
With Apple pre-occupied with its preparations for the highly-anticipated launch of iPhone 8, it is unlikely that the Cupertino Company will release the iPhone SE 2 upgrade this year. On the grand occasion of celebrating the tenth anniversary of original iPhone launch sometime in September 2017, Apple is expected to unveil two other top-end phones in iPhone 7s and 7s Plus.
Consequently, it is speculated that the iPhone SE 2 launch could happen sometime in Q1 2018. This theory is further strengthened by the fact that Apple seems engaged in addressing the various supply chain issues related to the short-supply of OLED panels for the mass production of iPhone 8 units, ahead of the smartphone's official launch.
