Eenam Gambhir has made world headlines ever since she took on Pakistan and called it the host of "Ivy League terrorism" and "country with a democracy deficit." India exercised its Right to Reply to Nawaz Sharif at the UNGA and it was Gambhir who delivered the scathing speech. The young First Secretary in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations has since been applauded for her eloquent delivery.
But who is Eenam Gambhir? Gambhir hails from New Delhi and she went on to study at the University of Geneva. She then joined Indian Foreign Service in 2005 after successfully completing the exams. Gambhir was posted as the Second Secretary at the Embassy of India in Argentina from August 2008 to April 2010. In fact, she also speaks Spanish well as a result. Now Gambhir is posted in New York and resides there.
Looking at Gambhir's twitter bio, it's quite simple – she just describes herself as an Indian diplomat and Delhiite. But her tweets reveal that she is someone with a sharp mind and who could grow in stature in the coming days.
Social media has been hailing her for exposing Pakistan's lies and the way she delivered the speech.
