Central government-owned All India Radio (AIR) has launched an Android mobile app on Google Play store.
AIR's official app will bring news, music and other infotainment media in Hindi, Urdu and other major regional language to the people who reside far away from their home country.
"It cares for nostalgic Indians living far away from territories where their mother tongue is spoken, folk-lore enjoyed and communication idiom used as tool of effective expression. The app knits Indians cutting across geographical boundaries," said AIR.
Some of the prominent FM radio stations included in the app are FM Rainbow, Vividh Bharathi, FM Gold, FM Urdu, FM India, FM Gujrathi, FM Oriya and FM Punjabi.
Besides All India Radio Live, the radio agency had launched another app, All India Radio News, on Play store back in January. It provides latest news, national as well as regional from Prasar Bharati and India's Public Service Broadcaster department.
As of now, All India Radio Live is available only on Android, the company has announced to release it on other platforms like Apple iOS and Microsoft's Windows Phone store.
