Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan on Monday morning had a close encounter when the car they were travelling from the airport to the hotel, met with an accident. Both the actors were in Ahmedabad to promote their upcoming movie "'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" ("HSKD") when a car belonging to JN Parmar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), G Division, Ahmedabad smashed into the actors' luxury sedan. Luckily, no one was hurt in the collision.
"Both the stars were seated at the back. It was around 11am and the car had stopped at a traffic signal. The driver of a car just behind them lost control and rammed into their sedan. The impact shattered the rear windscreen completely. A few shards even landed on the backseat. Varun and Alia quickly jumped out, visibly shaken but unhurt." according to a source, reported Times of India.
Both the "Highway" and "Main Tera Hero" actors were crowded by pedestrians as soon as the accident took place but the duo quickly managed to go away in another car.
However, according to a police source, Bhatt was not inside the car when the accident took place. "She was supposed to be in it but Varun and she took another vehicle." the source added.
Dhawan, reportedly informed the media that he was in a yellow Audi when its rear glass was completely smashed.

ACP J N Parmar, who retired from police service on Monday also commented on the accident, "Yes, my car met with an accident on Monday morning. Fortunately, I was not in the car. Since the driver told me that the matter had been settled, I didn't ask him for details."
The actors have been travelling to various locations inorder to promote their film and are spotted stealing the fan's hearts with their charming performance.
"Saturday Saturday" and "Samjhawan" of "HSKD" are among the top songs on the playlist of youngsters. The newly launched "Emotional Fool" track has also gotten good response.
"HSKD" directed by debutant Shashank Khaitan is produced by Karan Johar under his banner "Dharma Productions" and is set to release on 11 July 2014.
Bhatt will be next seen in Vikas Bahl's romantic thriller "Shaandar" opposite Shahid Kapoor, which is slated to go on the floor in August this year. Meanwhile, Dhawan is working on his next "Badlapur" that stars Yami Gautam as one of the lead actresses.
