The most recent buzz in the B-town is that Alia Bhatt, Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan may collaborate for "2 States" director Abhishek Varman's next movie. Produced by Dharma Productions, the film is apparently not "Kalank," which is also directed by Abhishek and produced by Karan Johar.
According to a report in Asian Age, the film will be a love triangle. "The casting took a while, but it has been sealed and the film's team has already begun work on its pre-production," a source told the web portal. However, another source said that the casting process is still going on and nothing has been finalised.
If everything goes as per reports, then it will be interesting to see Arjun, Alia and Varun on the silver screen together. Alia has worked with both the actors separately and shares a great chemistry onscreen with the two. Also, Varun and Alia have already done a film "Student of the Year" based on a love triangle, but that film starred Sidharth Malhotra.
A few days ago, a Bollywood Life report said that Varun has been finalised for a period drama, "Shiddat," directed by Abhishek Varman and jointly produced by Varun Dhawan and Sajid Nadiadwala. Is "Shiddat" the film that stars Arjun and Alia as well or it's something else? Only time will tell.
On the other hand, Abhishek is also directing another Dharma Productions movie, "Kalank," which had roped in Hrithik Roshan earlier, but the actor later opted out of it. Sidharth Malhotra was being considered for it, but for now, the film has taken a backseat.
Interestingly, the storyline of "Kalank" and "Shiddat" seem to be similar as both of them are about a love story set against the backdrop of the partition and both the films have two lead actors. As of now, nothing concrete can be said there is an official statement from the filmmakers.
