Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt might be seen together in Vikas Bahl's upcoming film "Shaandar."
Reports of the actors being paired together have been in news for a while, and now Bahl confirmed that Kapoor has been signed on to play the male lead in the film. Meanwhile, Bhatt is said to be in consideration for the role.
"We have finalised Shahid. I would like to have Alia in the film, but we are still working on the script. So it's too early to talk about it (the heroine)," the director told PTI.
Quite like the filmmaker, the "Highway" actress too opted for a safe answer with respect to her association with the project.
"I prefer not to talk about anything right now. Whenever it has to come out it will," the actress told the agency.
Kapoor and Bhatt teaming up will add to the list of new onscreen pairings, which the industry has witnessed in the recent times.
"Shaandar" slated to be Bollywood's first ever destination film will be Bahl's third project, after "Queen" and the National Award winning "Chillar Party" (2011). The upcoming film is expected to start rolling from August this year.
Additionally, last month rumour had it that Kapoor would be paired with Tabu for another of Bahl's project titled "Return Gift." It was further reported that the actors would be seen as a romantic pair and the news had created quite a buzz among movie-goers.
The project was slated to be Kapoor and Tabu's second film together post Vishal Bhardwaj's "Haider," which is currently being shot. However, there has been no confirmation on the same yet.
